Privacy notice
Your information, in plain language.

This notice explains what information DAINTY collects through dainty.me and my products, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask me to do with it. DAINTY is run by me, Esmarie Swanepoel, and I am responsible for your information. If you have a question or a request, email esmarie@dainty.me. A human reads every one.
The short version: I collect only what I need to give you what you asked for, I never sell your information, and you can ask me to see it or delete it at any time.
What I collect, and why

The services that handle it
I use a small number of trusted providers to run the site and my products. Each one handles your information only to provide its service:
- Netlify hosts this website and stores AI Readiness Check submissions.
- Kit sends my emails to people who have signed up.
- Whop handles checkout, payments and access to digital products.
- The AI services that power the X-Ray process your answers to map and score your processes.
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used, only if you click Allow.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measures my ads, only on pages linked from those ads and only if you click Allow.
- YouTube plays podcast episodes embedded on the site, in privacy-enhanced mode, only when you press play.
- Substack hosts my SmartCuts newsletter. If you subscribe there, Substack's own privacy policy applies.
Some of these providers are based in the United States or elsewhere outside your country. Where the law requires it, they transfer information under safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
The site works without cookies. Analytics and advertising cookies are switched off until you click Allow on the cookie message, and nothing is stored if you click No thanks. Your choice is remembered in your browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser and the message will appear again.
How long I keep it
- AI Readiness Check results: up to two years, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
- Email list details: until you unsubscribe.
- Purchase records: as long as tax law requires.
- X-Ray answers and reports: until you ask me to delete them.
The legal basis
Where laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR or South Africa's POPIA apply, I rely on your consent for emails and cookies, on our contract when you buy something, and on my legitimate interest in replying to you and running my business properly. You can withdraw consent at any time, and that won't affect anything done before you withdrew it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask me to:
- tell you what information I hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct it
- delete it
- stop using it for marketing, or limit how I use it
- send it to you or to someone else in a usable format
Email esmarie@dainty.me and I'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with my answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live, for example the Information Regulator in South Africa, the ICO in the UK, or your national authority in the EU.
Selling and sharing
I don't sell your information, and I don't share it for anyone else's marketing.
Security
Your information is kept on reputable, secured platforms, and access is limited to me and the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but I'll tell you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.
Children
This site and my products are for adults running businesses. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If I change this notice, I'll update the date at the top. If a change affects you significantly, I'll tell you by email.
